For His Glory

19 Jan

We named our school For His Glory Academy because we wanted to be reminded every time we said or wrote it of the reason we homeschool. It should be the reason we do everything. Aaron Schust’s song “To God Alone” says “to God alone be the glory, to God alone be the praise. Everything I say and do, let it be all for You. The glory is Yours alone.” This has become my motto. As Paul says, “not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Phil 3:12-14

There is much work to do before I think our home, our school, or our family life will bring Him glory. But I will daily strive to be a little better at reflecting His glory back to Him. Praise God He’s not finished with me yet.

For His glory,
